Just before the MLB draft yesterday, commissioner Manfred guaranteed that baseball would be played this year, so everybody fear not!
Commissioner Rob Manfred on @MLBNetwork just guaranteed that there will be baseball this year. 100 percent he said. As has been noted, if there’s no agreement with players Manfred has the right to mandate players return to field as long as they receive prorated pay.

Basically the commissioner can force the players to play if an agreement is not made between the two sides.
Basically what this means is that both penny pinching sides are no where close and the commish is telling the players, you need to budge a bit!
If I were betting, we are looking at a two month season and a one month postseason, so kids, that means we are getting exactly three months of baseball. When this will happen is anyone’s guess but again if I had to bet, look for the season to start at the end of July.
Stay tuned for the never ending saga between the MLB and MLBPA.
