Yanks Get M’s Ace Paxton For Justus Sheffield

The Yanks have just about finalized a deal that will bring the Mariners ace James Paxton in return for a package headlined by top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield. I have mixed reviews about this trade, on the one hand, the Yanks are getting a bonafide ace, a left handed ace, when healthy is absolute electric! On the other hand, it took trading the top pitching prospect to land him, also Paxton’s track record of staying healthy is not exactly ideal. Apparently though, the Yanks saw enough in Paxton to say that Sheffield was expendable. As it is right, you can expect Paxton to slot into the number two or three slot in the Yankee rotation, a rotation that now includes, Severino, Tanaka, Paxton and Sabathia. The Yanks still need to put the foot on the gas and go after another top pitcher. If the consensus is right and the Yanks are going after two aces, one down, one to go!
