Its opening night in the NBA and there are a couple of games worth checking out for sure. First on the docket was the Celtics and Sixers, two teams who will definitely compete in the East this year for the top spot. The Celtics ended up taking this one 105-87 thanks to the 23 points by Jayson Tatum and solid effort all around, you can expect the Celtics to challenge, if not exceed and take the top spot this year with the addition of a healthy Gordon Hayward, who I can confirm lasted more than a quarter in the first game for the Celtics. In the second game of opening night, the Warriors took on the Thunder and were able to get the opening night win 108-100. These are two teams who are also expected to challenge for the West throne this season. With the addition of Demarcus Cousins, you can expect that the projections for the Warriors will be high, maybe even beating their single season record for wins. Other things to look forward this year is the emergence of Lebron James in LA for the Lakers and how he will fit in and guide that team. Who else will challenge in the East, will the Raptors fight for the top spot with new addition Kawhi Leonard.
