The Yankees avoided, at least momentarily, having the Red Sox clinch the division at Yankee Stadium tonight. The Yanks were blanked by the Red Sox until Neil Walker hit an absolute blast into outer space in the seventh to give The a Yanks a 3-1 lead. The Yankees, who had another solid outing by J. A. Happ, who went 6 innings giving up a run and striking out 6. The bullpen held on until the ninth, when Zach Britton made things interesting by giving up a run before ultimately closing out the game. The big news was Aaron Judge returning to the lineup, he batted 2nd in the lineup and went 0-4 tonight. Despite a forgetful night at the plate, Yankee fans can agree it was good getting a Judge back in the lineup and hitting. The Yanks face the Sox at the stadium today at 7pm and send Luis Severino to the mound opposed by David Price. Hopefully Sevy can get his problems in order and have himself a night. The A’s lost tonight so that brings the Yankees a little more breathing room in the wild card race!
