Yankees lost again last night to the Tampa Bay Rays 6-1. The lone bright spot coming when third baseman Miguel Andujar connected on his 19th home run. Andujar who barring some cataclysmic breakdown should be the AL rookie of the year. Let’s start with the atrocious start by the newly called up Luis Cessa, who gave up five earned runs through a shade over three innings. This move baffled me as Cessa has been wildly inconsistent and Chance Adams who had a solid start against the Red Sox over the weekend of hell at Fenway deserved the call up. I love my Yankees but they are blowing it, this stretch is definitely a let down and it starts from the top down. Aaron Boone better get his shit together because this could be a one and done year if he doesn’t right the ship from now until October.
