Soul singer and legend Aretha Franklin died today, age 76. I’m not going to write about how profound she was to me or how her music changed her life but I will touch on the three things I remember her personally by.
This song is just absolutely fucking catchy and I’m pretty sure there’s a part before the chorus where there’s words that make no sense but it sounds great.
I remember watching her in the diner in the movie “Blues Brothers”. She had a funny scene before all hell broke loose in that movie that is absolutely great.
Super Bowl XL
When the Super Bowl landed in Detroit how could you not have her there and of course sing the national anthem, truly a great moment for music, sports and the city of Detroit
Rest In Peace Aretha
